Position: Project Electrical Engineer We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a prominent construction firm specializing in cutting-edge electrical engineering solutions, we are committed to delivering superior results for our clients. This role will play a pivotal part in the design and implementation of customized substation solutions, ensuring the success and efficiency of our projects.
Key Responsibilities: Develop comprehensive physical designs, grounding designs, and HV/MV designs tailored to meet the specific needs and requirements of our clients. Create detailed schematic diagrams and control systems (P&C) aimed at optimizing substation performance and functionality. Generate accurate raceway/cable schedules and provide oversight for MV switchgear/E-house design to ensure seamless integration within the overall system. Collaborate closely with civil and structural teams to ensure design compliance and integrity throughout the project lifecycle. Conduct thorough system studies and calculations utilizing advanced modeling software, including but not limited to short-circuit analysis, load flow analysis, and grounding analysis. Perform precise AC station service and DC battery sizing calculations to effectively support substation functionality and operational requirements. Implement robust lightning protection measures to safeguard substation infrastructure and mitigate potential risks. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of hands-on consulting experience in power engineering, with a specific focus on substation design within the voltage range of 12.47kV to 345kV. In-depth knowledge and understanding of substation design principles, electrical distribution systems, and industry standards and regulations. Proficiency in ETAP software is highly preferred, with demonstrated experience in utilizing other relevant software tools such as BlueBeam, Visual, and Microsoft Office applications. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Willingness to travel occasionally as needed for project-related activities. Location: This position is based in either San Antonio, TX or St. George, UT.
