Temporary Position Announcement Project Assistant Grade 16 Salary: $30.37 - $41.98 Employment Period: Three Months Temporary Position - Perfect for someone during graduate work, in transition after graduate work, between positions, in retirement, or with lived experience in navigating service systems. The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. (RFMH) is seeking one (1) qualified candidate to fill the temporary full-time position of Project Assistant. RFMH and the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH), Division of Integrated Community Services for Children and Families, have been engaged in a System of Care project since October 2016.
The project is nearing its end and there are a variety of smaller projects/activities that need staff support to push over the finish line. These activities include assistance in developing a sustainable toolkit for counties to carry on project work, dissemination of other informational toolkits, packaging of electronic documents, cleanup of a project website, data collection for a number of project reports, and a few other activities.
This summer position also offers an opportunity for the candidate to work with other program units in the Division on such tasks as file organization, preparing files for submission to stakeholders, proofreading and revising documents, organizing, and analyzing data, preparing and submitting OMH website change requests, drafting program fact sheets and compiling information for the creation of program maps.
A successful candidate will meet all the qualifications and be willing to quickly learn project tasks. Strong communication and organizational skills will be necessary, as will the ability to take independent initiative with project tasks, interface with multiple stakeholders, and attention to detail. The successful candidate will have excellent written communication skills utilizing multiple methods (PowerPoint slides, social media posts, flyers, etc.), as well as experience working in teams to accomplish written products. 1-3 years' experience in utilizing all applications in Microsoft Office Suite is an asset.
Job Duties and Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Project Director of the NYS System of Care Project, duties and responsibilities include:
Conduct research, compile information, and can summarize information digestible for multiple audiences. Meeting coordination, agenda setting, phone outreach, stakeholder engagement, regular communication via email to gather information and move activities forward. Assist with stakeholder content development and packaging. Assist with other general project tasks as assigned. Due to the temporary nature of this assignment, tight adherence to the workplan and other assigned tasks will be necessary. Other tasks as necessary. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree with major course work in an appropriate behavioral health, public health, social sciences, or related field. At least one year experience (can be related to academic work) in facilitating workgroups/committees, managing a workplan, internet research, and creating written materials. Ability to communicate fluently in English. Work Location : 44 Holland Avenue, Floor 6, Albany, NY 12229. Telecommuting may be permitted up to 50% of employee's schedule.
