Job summary
The University of Michigan Arts Initiative is seeking a Graphic Designer and Communications Assistant.Primary responsibilities include developing collateral, coordinating branding, and supporting social media efforts.The position is based in Ann Arbor, MI and is a three-year term with the possibility for extension.
Job seniority: entry level
Responsibilities
• Support Arts Initiative staff with marketing for programs and events.• Work with stakeholders for planning and collaboration.• Assist with scheduling social media and PR needs.• Support and coordinate email communications for events.• Maintain the Arts Initiative website.• Attend events and represent the Arts Initiative.• Manage and support Mailchimp and list segmentation.• Organize visual assets and compile Mailchimp usage reports.• Check and respond to Arts Initiative email account.• Create and manage excel spreadsheets and contact lists in Mailchimp.
Requirements
• Background in arts and/or production/project management.• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel.• Strong written and oral communication skills.• Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and problem-solve creatively.• Strong computer fluency with Google Suite, Adobe Suite, and task management software.• Social media fluency.• Bachelor's degree and some administration experience preferred.• Visual document creation and layout skills preferred.
