PROGRAM MANAGER, LPHIT PROGRAM, School of Public Health, Environmental Health Tracking Code******** Job Description This position manages the overall operations of the MDPH-funded Local Public Health Intensive Training Program of Massachusetts. The Program's mission is to improve public health and emergency preparedness capabilities and the health of the residents of the Commonwealth by creating, implementing, and sustaining workforce development training for local public health. The Program is a partnership with the Massachusetts Health Officers Association (MHOA), the Massachusetts Environmental Health Association (MEHA), Massachusetts Association of Public Health Nurses (MAPHN) and the Massachusetts Association of Health Boards (MAHB). The Program Manager will facilitate collaboration and communication with partners and stakeholders; manages the work of staff, consultants, and subject matter experts including external evaluators and marketing and communications; organize and supports the Advisory Council. They also represent LPHI in local, state, and national discussions with the other agencies and organizations involved in workforce development. The Program Manager will work closely and under the supervision of the two Program Principal Investigators.
Primary Duties: Manage overall operations of the Intensive Training Program (70%) Work closely with the Program Principal Investigators and partners to develop and track and annual workplan Manage budget, spending and expense reporting, and meet monthly with Department grant administrators Create monthly, and annual reports, per funder requirements Establish a schedule of twice-monthly meetings of the delegates to the Program working group from each organizations (BUSPH, MHOA, MEHA, MAHB and MAPHN) Schedule and draft agendas and follow-up meeting minutes for monthly leadership team from BUSPH, MHOA and MADPH, and quarterly Advisory Board meetings Coordinate the work of staff, consultants, and trainers including establishing Scopes of Work for any funded partners or consultants, in coordination with Grants Manager Collaborate with workforce development stakeholders, locally and nationally, including sister training centers and professional associations Establish relationships and coordinate trainings with the field training hubs in Massachusetts Attand board and member meetings of the partner associations, helping to organize workshops and vendor tables at Work closely with the Training Manager and Instructional Designer to ensure all trainings are fully vetted, evaluated, and delivered with input from all partners Oversee the LPHIT website and course catalog (25%) With the external evaluator, assure annual quality improvement for trainings and extended study courses Participate in development of new trainings in a variety of methods (e.g., webinar, virtual, live) Promote new and enduring trainings and other important workforce development resources Assure continuing education credits, as appropriate Marketing and Outreach (5%) With support from the external marketing and communications consultants, develop brand, logo, build and maintain website and social media content Identify target audiences and tailor marketing strategies to reach diverse groups of learners interested in advancing their public health Required Skills Master's degree in public health, public administration or equivalent preferred BS/BA required with 2-3 years direct experience Strong background in public health concepts, epidemiology, disease prevention, and health promotion Experience supervising staff Experience in program administration, budgeting and expense tracking Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines Experience in program development We are an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, natural or protective hairstyle, religion, sex, age, national origin, physical or mental disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, military service, pregnancy or pregnancy-related condition, or because of marital, parental, or veteran status.
