About the Work Unit The Colorado Bureau of Investigation's Major Crime Unit – Grand Junction. This work unit exists to provide criminal investigative assistance to local, state, and federal agencies upon request. Complete and accurate documentation of results and findings are made available to the requesting agency. About the Job This position exists to support staff operations of the CBI Investigative unit by using a variety of complex computer programs to collect, organize, evaluate, collate, enter, retrieve, and analyze operational, financial, and investigative information to assist management and the criminal investigator with daily and on-going functions. Analysis, logic, and focus are necessary to determine which of the operational activities and procedures are required for each assignment. This position is held to a high level of confidentiality. This position coordinates administrative functions for the Agent-in-Charge; assemble, calculate, and circulate investigative statistics; collect, evaluate, and research data; interpret policy and procedure within position's authority, and orders supplies, provides accounting, and budgetary support.
Key Responsibilities  Provides administrative and program support to AIC, and other Denver-based AICs and leadership upon request. Assists CBI Investigations leadership/management with scheduling appointments and interviews. Makes training or event registrations for all CBI Investigations staff. Provides program support including pulling investigative information to assist management and the criminal investigator with daily and on-going functions.  Functions as the CBI Investigations front-desk receptionist by answering and directing all incoming phone calls during business hours (8:00 am to 5:00 pm), or coordinates an incoming phone call answering schedule. Screen phone calls and direct to appropriate CBI Investigations Staff. Process outgoing mail and distributes incoming mail. Copies, scans, or mails documents and files as requested. Calculate, and circulate investigative statistics; collect, evaluate, and research data Provide statistics related to employee productivity and activities. Compile statistics of employee activities/productivity. Compile statistics for budgeting purposes. Perform additional assigned duties to meet the needs of the CBI Grand Junction Investigations unit. Plan, coordinate, and complete special projects as assigned by management to enhance the overall operations of the office. Perform other duties as assign. Prepares and manages the unit budget(s) in conjunction with the unit/section AIC's/Assistant Director/Deputy Director. Ensures adherence to state fiscal rules and maintains a precise accounting of all budget allocations made to the unit. Periodically reviews the unit budget, makes expenditures when necessary and with the approval of the AIC and ensures that all expenditures are reconciled on a monthly basis. Provides recommendations to management for new technologies and other resources and/or tools, for the procurement and implementation of technology solutions that improve productivity and efficiency within the unit Orders equipment and supplies for the unit by entering and verifying requisitions. Tracks purchases from the order until receipt/entry into inventory. Order all office supplies needed by CBI Grand Junction Investigations. NOTE: To be considered for this position, you must meet one of the following options for consideration. MINIMUM QUALIFICATON Four years of general clerical experience supporting an individual or a team.
OR
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in any field.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Requires successful completion of a background investigation that includes a polygraph exam, a fingerprint based criminal history search [ ALL ALL THAT APPLY].
