Position Summary We are seeking a part-time Professional Rater I to join the team on the Adolescent Brain and Cognitive Development (ABCD) Study at Washington University in St. Louis. The ABCD Study is a large-scale study to determine how childhood experiences interact with each other and with a childâ™s changing biology to affect brain development and social, behavioral, academic, health, and other outcomes. As a Professional Rater I, you will work with youth and adult participants representative of the St. Louis community at their annual ABCD study visits. Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities Interviews study participants about topics regarding culture and environment, mental and physical health, and substance use. C ollects and processes biological samples (hair, saliva, urine, blood) in accordance with study guidelines. Administers/scores standard tests, dependent on study. Refers patients to resources available in community and social services. Maintains proper documentation and record keeping. Monitors and orders supplies necessary for study. Prepares information packets for patients enrolled in study. May receive training from Professional Rater II, Professional Rater III, or others based on organizational structure. Working Conditions Weekend availability. Preferred Qualifications Degree in psychology or a closely related field. Experience working with research participants, particularly with teenagers. Strong attention to detail. Experience navigating stressful or difficult situations and conversations. Strong communication skills, with a dedication to providing empathetic, participant-oriented experiences. Ability to work effectively within a small team. Required Qualifications Bachelorâ™s degree or four years of relevant experience. Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements). Grade C06-H Salary Range $17.00 - $24.66 / Hourly
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
