Job Summary: Manufacture core company products including, but not limited to, brain powder, tissue, complement and other blood products. Follow written procedures throughout manufacturing processes, provide timely notice and seek proper instruction or guidance to manage through manufacturing issues. All production activities must be in direct compliance with procedural and quality system requirements. Prepare media, substances, solutions, and reagents and perform related duties as required. Support all applicable regulations including, but not limited to ISO and OSHA requirements. Work and participate in a team environment where shared responsibilities, problem solving, achieving team goals, and continuous improvements of the production process are basic expectations. Fundamental to all positions within Pel-Freez is the requirement to understand and promote the Quality System as part of the company's overall goal toward continual improvement through strict adherence to all company policies and procedures, as well as actively supporting and upholding the principals and values of the company.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None Duties/Responsibilities: Must be competent in the following production processes following documented procedures: Custom high level products, special projects or rarely produced products, acetone powders, gamma, sterile filtration, complement production, whole bloods, plasma and serum production, solutions, tissues, 3-4 week complement collection. Responsible for equipment usage, monitoring, basic troubleshooting, and calibration per established standard operating procedures. Perform proper lab cleaning techniques; daily cleaning of task area, keeping work area free of clutter, scheduled weekly and monthly cleaning. Maintain strict adherence to good documentation practices. Inventory consumable items and re-supply as needed. Responsible for informing management of any potential process or documentation issues. Initiate Deviations and DCO requests as needed. Ensure all finished products are meticulously inspected for labeling or package defects. Basic understanding of planning and higher-level operational objectives. Provide input to management regarding weekly activity scheduling and potential process improvements. Observe proper techniques and PPE requirements when handling potentially dangerous chemicals. Adhere to all departmental and company-wide policies and procedures. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Must be detail oriented. Also calls for flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors if necessary. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing, in English. Professional presentation and conduct. Must be responsible and self-managed. Must have excellent follow-up and tracking skills. Must be able to keep company information and matters strictly confidential. Ability to learn industry/company specific software. Familiarity with biological production is preferred. Education and Experience: High school diploma Some college course work in science preferred
