The Plant Production Technician is responsible for carrying out the production of protein meal, an ingredient in dry pet foods, at an Integrated Proteins facility. Aspects of production include obtaining samples, conducting inspections on dry vans and bulk hopper trailers, loading and unloading bulk and toted products, and cleaning and maintaining production equipment. The individual in this position is able to perform all functions at the plant in an accurate and efficient manner: Unloader, Loader, Mixer, Float, and Captain. They must comply with all safety regulations, work rules, SOPs, and company policies. They also ensure the production facility meets all cGMP and safety standards by keeping the facility clean and maintained.We are looking to fill a position in our 3rd shift, 10:00pm to 6:30am.Responsibilities:Use a scissor lift to obtain samples from bulk hopper trailers using a 15-foot rod weighing up to 15 poundsOpen hopper doors on bulk hopper trailers and facilitate unloading by swinging an 8-10 pounds rubber mallet to shake product loose from the hoppersOperate and front-end loader to scoop product into a mixer, hoppers, and baysOperate load-out system to load bulk hopper trailers and super sacksMonitor the processing system to ensure there are no issues with equipment or productConduct inspections on bulk hopper trailers for inbound and outbound loadsCollect samples from the production line and transport them to the lab for analysesComplete all paperwork associated with trailer inspectionsSweep the facility floor with a floor sweeperUse compressed air to clean super sacs and the facilityUtilize a dump cart to weigh and empty products from production streams into designated areasComplete all required food safety, cGMP, and OSHA training as assignedComplete all paperwork associated with product movementsApply labels to super sacksLoad covered bulk hopper rail carsUnload covered bulk hopper rail carsClean magnets and other processing equipment according to cGMPs and SOPsMaintain good housekeeping practices in the work area and comply with all food safety and safety rules and proceduresWear and maintain the required protective clothing and equipment including; safety glasses, steel-toe safety shoes, and a hard hat.
