Reports to:

Plant Manager
Hours:

2:00pm - 12:00am; Monday - Thursday

Direct the efforts of the Specialty Finishing Lead Operators, Operators and Support staff to achieve highest levels of product quality, on-time shipments and thruput consistent with BELMARK Mission, Purpose and Principles. Upgrade the productive capabilities of the operation through system improvement, training, system accountability, equipment maintenance and improvement. Support new product/sample request efforts. Assure the continued training and growth of production personnel.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible to follow all safety procedures as required by the role, and to nurture a food safety culture by adhering to all Safe Quality Foods requirements.
Anticipate short-term and long-term production needs and plan to meet them in conjunction with sales and scheduling efforts.
Achieve continuous improvement in quality, waste and productivity.
Assign, instruct and coordinate the work of all production personnel.
Ensure proper staffing for straight time achievement of production needs. Must manage all overtime worked.
Responsible for product quality, motivation and coaching of personnel.
Solve daily production problems.
Hold production personnel accountable for adhering to agreed upon standards, processes and systems.
Coordinate daily production needs with the following departments: Finishing, Graphics and Scheduling.
Make daily production decisions.
Direct appearance activities for the press, press support and associated areas.
Coordinate maintenance requirements.
Take corrective action to eliminate problems.
Cross train as necessary to ensure press coverage.
Assist with the development of annual plans for personnel, processes and equipment improvement.
Provide verbal and written feedback and training in proper processes and techniques to production personnel.
Assist in planning and executing research and development projects and sample request efforts.
Assist with performance reviews, attendance records, scheduling vacations, time card accuracy and pay recommendations
May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
Must understand people and be able to communicate effectively with them.
Must have excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to analyze many variables and choose the most effective course of action for the organization at any given point in time.
Requires nearly constant concentration and attention to detail.
Ability to give, receive and analyze information, formulate work plans, prepare written materials and articulate goals and action plans.
Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict and make effective decisions under pressure.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Must be able to communicate and answer questions in a professional and friendly manner.
Requires any combination equivalent to graduation from high school plus two (2) years of press operation and leadership experience; or a 2-year technical degree.
Knowledge of and the ability to effectively utilize the English language.
Ability to read, comprehend and follow implicit and explicit written and oral instructions.
Ability to: stand for 35% of work time; walk for 35% of work time; and sit for 30% of work time.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds or less 30% of work time.
Ability to: see clearly at 20 inches or less or 20 feet or more, identify and distinguish colors and to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.
May be required to lift up to 75 pounds.
