We are committed to our customers' success in wind, offering a broad portfolio of products and services that make renewables the energy of choice for a cleaner future.Roles and ResponsibilitiesOwnership includes both quality assurance and quality control; includes quality assurance of products, services, manufacturing processes; includes conformance in manufacturing, incoming goods control, product inspection, witness points, etc.Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy; may include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skillsBasic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work; good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the areaProvide area leadership for all quality topics including timely dispositions of non-conformances, QMS compliance including internal audits, and achieving cell goals for quality metricsInterpret engineering drawings and specifications against physical parts to investigate non-conformances and effectively document and communicate findingsAnalyze internal and external quality data to identify high impact and recurring defect modes to drive meaningful corrective actionsDetermine root cause of non-conformances and implement corrective actions both internally and externallyCoordinate with the global Supplier Quality Organization to improve the quality of raw materials, qualify new vendors, and assist in process changes or new product developmentMaintain familiarity with manufacturing processes and practices in order to continuously improve manufacturing qualitySupport cell goals for Continuous Improvement through Six Sigma and Lean methodology, and by coaching technicians in ideas generationPrepare and present cell quality data weekly to plant leadership including progress towards quality targets, current challenges, and corrective actionsDevelop and maintain manufacturing methods to support the Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost prioritiesLead high-impact quality improvement projects that improve First Pass Yield (FPY) and reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ)Participates regularly in Lean Kaizen events to support the Lean RoadmapRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university (or a high school diploma/GED and at least 4 years of manufacturing engineering experience)Desired CharacteristicsStrong oral and written communication skillsHigh attention to detail and organizationDemonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problemsEstablished project management skillsExperience with AutoCAD or similar CAD softwareExperience with product family ownershipExperience with new product introduction and process developmentDemonstrated knowledge and experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and toolsExperience reading and interpreting engineering specifications and drawingsDemonstrated leader and respectful team playerHands-on experience with implementing projects and sustaining process improvementsAbility to manage multiple projects/priorities and deliver timely actionsDemonstrated ability to effectively influence and motivate othersWillingness and ability to learn from others and listen with intentGE offers a great work environment, professional development, challenging careers, and competitive compensation.
