Full job description Product Manager
The Product Manager for Plastics will focus primarily on developing new business and applications where coatings for injection molding, compression molding and mold components are beneficial for the customer's cost saving efforts. The incumbent will be required to manage a portfolio of existing key accounts as well as develop new accounts and train/ mentor TAMS. The territory will be the Southeast and part of the US but some travel to other areas may be warranted. This position is also responsible for generating sales leads as well as marketing, forecasting, and selling PVD, PACVD and Primeform solutions to OEMs, end-users, and manufacturers. The Product Manager for Plastics will be required to provide a consultative selling approach by providing top to bottom solutions and consult with customers and their agents as well as internal engineers and TAMS to resolve any technical and commercial questions regarding tools arriving for treatment.

Your Responsibilities: Provide expertise regarding new technology coatings (PAFT) Drive the business and develop opportunities for Oerlikon Balzers high performance technologies. Manage and grow assigned key accounts. Represent Oerlikon Balzers in the marketplace. Effectively communicate the value of Oerlikon Balzers solutions. Function as spokesperson as required. Develop new business by leveraging internal resources such as production staff, TAM's, area production and sales managers. Responsible for forecasting and budgeting support Conduct tests and document results in detail and interact with segment experts nationwide and globally to solve upcoming challenges. Assist sales team members in prospecting for future business and building long-term relationships; collaborates with Territory Account Managers and Segment Managers at Balzers Technology & Service Center. Participate in special projects as assigned and market research. Maintain relevant customer/account information using Balzers CRM (customer information) database. Facilitate customer seminars, able to communicate clearly with internal and external customers. Participate in industry events. Your Profile: Bachelor's degree in business or engineering; equivalent experience may substitute. 5+ years of experience selling in a manufacturing or industrial industry, specifically in the plastics industry. 3+ years of experience with service or consultative sales approach required. Broad understanding of manufacturing processes from a users' perspective – mold and die and plastics manufacturing. Experience working in the tooling or coatings industry preferred. Experience selling PVD coating and surface treatments preferred. Knowledge regarding PVD solutions and surface treatments preferred. Proficiency working with MS Office (i.e., Excel, Work, and PowerPoint) is required. Effective verbal /writing skills and strong presentation skills Must be energetic, goals-driven, result-oriented, and high-energy to be effective in this role. Must be willing to travel overnight 50 to 60% of their time.
