Procurement Manager- MRO and Services

Job Summary:

Our client, a company that designs, implements, and repairs fire sprinkler systems is seeking

their Procurement Manager to join their team This role is a Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) and Services position is primarily responsible for the cradle-to-grave Procurement support of the manufacturing plant and ensures that all purchases for the plant are made in compliance with the company's policies and procedures. Ensuring that all purchasing needs are identified early, properly documented and communicated, delivery / services completion issues, warranty situations, and invoice discrepancies and disputes are resolved in a timely manner are other important tasks of this role. Timely and effective communication, strong business acumen, a proactive, analytical approach, and the comfortableness to challenge the status quo, engage in constructive discussions with internal and external stakeholders, and drive operational improvements will be critical success factors for this role.

Duties and Responsibilities:
· As the Plant Procurement Representative, assist the plant staff with its daily Procurement needs, including RFP/RFQ, purchasing, expediting, and reporting activities, and ensure that company's Procurement Policies and Procedures are enforced.
· Assist in the development and continuous improvement of company policies, procedures, and work instructions. Support the development of training materials, presentations, and quick guides, and ensure that plant staff receives all required Procure-to-Pay training.
· Conduct data analysis and provides data-backed insights into the Procurement performance, supplier and contractor base, as well as spend patterns.
· Prepare Bid Lists, Requests for Information, Quotation, or Proposal documents on assigned Procurement requirements.
· Prepare bid evaluations comprising price, terms, delivery, past performance, and other commercial criteria to identify best value offerings. Ensure completion of technical bid evaluations by technical counterparts (e.g. requester, requester's supervisor). Within DOA limits, award purchase orders to successful bidders or make award recommendations to Sr. Procurement Manager for final decision.
· On more complex purchases, coordinate requests for technical clarification, commercial communications and bid clarification meetings and expedite timely bid submission.
· Support or conduct commercial negotiations and ensure properly documented achievements of cost and contractual improvements.
· Provide input to project schedules and overall Procurement plans.
· Holistically manage assigned purchase requirements, from initial request to end of warranty, and keep stakeholders abreast of progress and significant developments.
· Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:
· Preferred Bachelor's Degree, ideally in Supply Chain Management, Business, or Finance, and have at least seven (7) years of supply chain and Procurement experience with multiple MRO and Technical Services categories in the chemical, petrochemical, or oil and gas industries.
· Experience with multiple capital expenditures

(CapEx) categories highly preferred.
· In lieu of a Bachelor's Degree, Candidates should have at least ten (10) years of progressive supply chain and procurement experience in the Construction, i.e. Plumbing or Sprinklers.
· Demonstrated success in independently supporting plant operations and corporate departments on their Procurement needs with strong business acumen. Experience with the negotiation of terms and conditions highly preferred.
Must have International sourcing experience for Construction Products. Fire Sprinkle/Plumbing products a big plus!!
International importing experience.

· Comfort in high change, ambiguous environments with a demonstrated ability to prioritize. Adaptable and able to independently resolve obstacles or competing priorities.
· Advanced proficiency with MS Office 365, primarily Excel and Word. Hands-on knowledge of Aptean Tabware is preferred.
· Good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are essential.
· Team player and able to build and maintain relationships both internally and externally.

Location Newark, N.J.
Compensation: 125k -140k Plus all Benefits
