Job Description Process Engineering – this person would become an expert for manufacture of PQ adsorbent gels products. Critical role in developing PFD's, P&ID's, material and energy balances for project scope definition and front-end design engineering. Ability to apply process chemistry in process improvements and understanding. Perform conceptual and detailed process designs. Work as a member of a multifunctional project teams to execute major capital projects. Work with engineering contractors to assure complete and accurate transfer of plant detailed design data. Review of plant designs, 3D models, and piping plans to ensure quality plant design. Assist in plant construction supervision and start-up activities. Independently manage smaller-scale process improvement and capital projects; including managing schedule and budget to meet project deliverables. Coordinate and execute plant trials. Willing and able to travel up to 40% of time. Able to effectively use MSOffice Suite products in execution of the role. Qualifications Education: B.S. in Chemical Engineering; Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering desirable.
Experience: Three to eight years of experience in a process engineering role. Experience in a plant process engineering function or other chemical manufacturing role. Experience in development and field verifications of PFD's, P&ID's, equipment layouts, equipment lists. Familiar with a variety of equipment in the processing industry, including pumps, heat exchangers, reactors, filtration, flow measurement, conveyors, mills, and bulk solid/powder material transfer equipment. Solids handling experience desirable. Familiar with the various aspects of OSHA's process safety management (PSM) regulations, including PHA's, management of change, mechanical integrity, and relief valve sizing. Skills & Abilities: Ability to develop strong working relationships with the plant personnel. Able to make effective presentations to audiences ranging from hourly operating staff to engineering and plant management.
