As the Process/Equipment Engineer, you will perform design, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, installation and modification of Automated Paint Systems which are important in the PPG Automotive paint manufacturing and development process.
This role is eligible for remote work.
Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot automated system problems, both mechanical and electrical in nature.
Create mechanical & electrical drawings, S.O.P., instruction manuals and LOTO procedures.
Project engineering, estimation of costs and timelines
Troubleshoot types of mechanically moving parts and electrical circuits in robotic painting systems and spray atomizers.
Perform troubleshooting and support; on-site, by phone, Email and remote connectivity with systems globally; pesent logical arguments with data in problem resolution.
Ensure compliance with all PPG Policies, Blueprint and Business Strategy goals including EH&S, Business Conduct, Code of Ethics, and all governmental regulations and laws. Support the ATSEL team and the Global Technical Organization with Engineering Support observing Technical and Quality Assurance work instructions and ensures confidentiality of PPG Intellectual Property (IP).
Continue personal growth through appropriate development opportunities. Remain current, and stays on the leading edge of New Technologies, most specifically New Engineering Equipment and Process Technologies and ensures that trends are implemented within PPG for consideration of future Business Impacts and to increase efficiency. Ensure own technical skills are current and cross trains between PT, ED, and Topcoat – such that recognized expertise maintained.

Qualifications
BS Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronic Engineering or 8+ years of experience with automation, robotics and electrostatic painting systems.
Experience with CAD and PLC
