Overview PRIVATE CAREGIVERS NEEDED at a lovely estate with great pay and perks for flexible, as-available shifts. This is a light-duty care position with opportunities for downtime and relaxation. We're seeking high-quality people who enjoy seeing the difference they make just by being around. Direct care experience is nice, but we'll provide training to all successful candidates, whether you're a philosophy student or nursing pro.
YOU'LL BE HELPING a disabled young-professional adult who is intelligent, educated, employed, and capable of directing his needs. Your care helps him remain working and at home with his family, so this is a rewarding opportunity to gain deep healthcare knowledge and experience by assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) and health maintenance.

REQUIREMENTS include dependability and timeliness, reliable transportation, excellent communication, good judgment, a reasonably positive attitude, ability to use a smartphone, and ability to briefly lift 50+ lbs. Applicants must be 18 or older, living within 30 minutes of North Mankato, and able to pass a thorough background check.
CURRENT OPENINGS are primarily for our "flex pool," for which you'd receive full training and be notified of any open shifts immediately or into the future. If you want the shift, you'd take it; otherwise, no obligation. Typically, at least one shift per week opens up; many more in the case of staff illnesses etc. Short-notice openings typically come with generous bonuses. Typical shifts are 7a/8a to 3p, 3-10p and 10p-3a or 7/8a, but many times we're happy with whatever coverage we can get.

Description of Responsibilities Primary Duties Provide general light-duty care and monitoring; Check needs, wellbeing, and safety. Be available during shifts to respond as needed to requests for help, expressed in person or by instant messaging or alarm. Must be able to use smartphone. Monitor and occasionally report daily info and health trends for others. Relax in private aide area when not needed or for breaks and meals. Assist with nutrition: simple meal and beverage preparation and supplement/med consumption. Assist with continuous use and upkeep of BiPap, ventilator (humidifier, hoses, masks, filters). Assist with daily treatments (nebulizer, handheld percussor, coughing). Assist with basic range of motion and physical maintenance (20min/day). Assist in repositioning or sitting up in bed and transferring to seated position; assist with household transit. Must be able to briefly lift up to 50 lbs. Client is light, but proper safe techniques must be used. Assist with retrieving or using basic objects. May assist with basic communication tasks. Assist with personal hygiene (clothing, face, hands, skin, teeth, feet, deodorant, lotion, mouthwash). This includes grooming. Assist with basic toileting and GI care. Maintain a hygienic environment by washing hands and disinfecting used surfaces. Occasionally disinfect equipment such as BiPap and nebulizer. Keep regularly used items clean. Assist with occasional basic household tasks. Follow all COVID and public health guidelines as applied to the household and the client. Study and understand procedures, routines, equipment, and techniques. Secondary Duties (less frequent) Assist with basic occasional household maintenance, possibly including: Disinfect surfaces; occasional dusting. Vacuum, mop, or sani-wipe. Remove obstacles and clutter or store items as directed. Keep sinks and toilets, towels and rags hygienic by using as specified/dedicated and occasionally cleaning. Change and clean bedding. May assist client during occasional in-home visits or interactions with others. May assist in training other aides. May very rarely manage appointments, paperwork, care schedules, communication and dispatching, and coordination of managing the life of a disabled adult. Optional May rarely be asked to provide core duties in medical/hospital setting; only as mutually agreed, special rates and separate pay may apply. May rarely help with shopping.
