SpaceLink is designing and building a communications system to allow satellites in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) to connect to the ground through our data relay satellites located in Medium Earth Orbit (MEO). SpaceLinks Always in Sight

advantage. Our constellation will continuously transmit user data to the ground for immediate access via the Internet, private cloud, or other secure delivery. Intersatellite links between the relay satellites allow data to be sent directly to wherever the customer wants it on Earth, without it landing elsewhere.
As the backbone for a secure, industry-grade Wi-Fi network in space, our constellation of satellites in Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) ensures that at least one SpaceLink satellite is always visible to Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites and other spacecraft. Our customers include anyone operating satellites taking any kind of data which needs to get to the ground. Our system will change the way earth observation is done, and the way different system can work together.
At SpaceLink, rigorous system modeling is the core of our design process. We have an opening on our systems modeling team for a senior level individual contributor.
**What Youll Do:**
The Principal Systems Engineer

Data Delivery will be the systems engineering lead for ensuring end-to-end data delivery. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with cross functional teams to define the requirement for order processing system, contact scheduling and data flow through the SpaceLink system and defines the overall architecture. You will specify and document deployment architecture, test and integration of the system. You will also specify the elements of the system that need to be modeled and oversee internal prototyping and proof of concept of the service delivery system. You will evaluate and recommend software and systems that needed to be built and integrated. You will also be responsible to ensure that the right solution meets the security and performance requirements
**What It Takes:**
* A Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Physics or Mathematics is required. A Masters degree is preferred
* Previous experience in satellite communications industry
* Strong knowledge in networking, optimization, satellite resource scheduling, cloud computing, cybersecurity
* Experience working with one or more of mission planning software, satellite resource management, satellite networking is preferred
**W****here Youll Be:**
* The position will be remote during the pandemic but will ultimately report to our office in Tysons Corner, VA, a short walk from the Greensboro or Tysons Corner Metro stops.

**ITAR Requirements:**
This position is subject to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
