As part of the Verse Framework Team, you will have the opportunity to write gameplay systems, create APIs for the Verse programming language, and help build a broader gameplay framework that unlocks the power of Unreal Engine for Fortnite creators, using UEFN to build the next generation of amazing gameplay experiences!In this role, you willArchitect gameplay systems and implement robust, stable, and usable APIs for internal and external game developersCollaborate closely with engineers across multiple teams to help develop solutions that can meet their needsProactively work with other developers to create Verse APIs that unlock the power of Unreal Engine in UEFNResearch new solutions and systems for expressing gameplay concepts in the Verse programming language to help build the foundation for the MetaverseSupporting technical excellence on multiple platforms and optimizing/fixing bugs in existing gameplay systemsWhat we're looking forStrong C++ skills and the ability to code and architect gameplay mechanics and associated toolsExperience related to creating and maintaining APIs with strong backward compatibility requirementsCreativity in problem-solving and the ability to think outside of the established solutionsAbility to deal with ambiguity and work with team members to help define deliverablesExperience with multiple programming languages and a proven track record of leveraging the strengths of a language while avoiding its pitfallsWell-versed in game technologies and the ability to discuss trade-offs and details of a variety of gameplay systemsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsExperience writing performant code that runs on multiple different hardware platforms, especially game consolesEPIC JOB + EPIC BENEFITS = EPIC LIFEOur intent is to cover all things that are medically necessary and improve the quality of life.
