Role Overview:
As the Principal of Actuarial Analytics, you will spearhead the development of new products and analytics focused on risk adjustment. Leveraging rich data sources including national CMS reports, payer claims, electronic health records, and performance and financial data models, you will lead cross-functional efforts to uncover insights, drive performance improvements, and shape long-term forecasting strategies.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and execute actuarial analysis projects, employing descriptive, predictive, and causal inference statistical analyses for large-scale projects and complex program areas.
- Develop and program code to integrate, evaluate, and analyze diverse data sources, ensuring robust and accurate insights.
- Lead junior colleagues in programming and model implementation, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Translate analysis results into actionable recommendations for organizational leaders, driving strategic and tactical decision-making processes.
- Lead the development and presentation of analytic products that effectively communicate insights and inspire action across teams.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to identify and prioritize strategic analysis initiatives, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience; Advanced degree may substitute for some experience.
- Proficiency with SQL for data manipulation and R, Python, or Stata for statistical programming.
- Experience with healthcare data sources and complex enterprise data warehouses.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in statistics, mathematics, or finance.
- Experience in payer risk adjustment and risk score calculation/projection.
- Strong quantitative analysis abilities and knowledge of standard methods for measuring risk adjustment and condition prevalence.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects with multiple stakeholders and effectively communicate with senior management.
- Attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines and priorities.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion principles and practices.
- Proficiency in equity and inclusion language, concepts, and principles, with the ability to communicate them effectively.
- Ability to manage research projects through the entire life cycle, from design through implementation and presentation of findings.
