1.0 GENERAL
In order to receive a wage increase or be eligible for promotion, an employee must meet the following
general requirements for all descriptions.
-Maintain an acceptable attendance record at the time of the scheduled performance review. A Supervisor is expected to be at work every day, on time, and set the example in perfect attendance. It is an exception
only that a Supervisor is late to work, does not show to work, or must leave work before the end of the shift.
- Meet the minimum time on the job requirement per the job description.
New employees that meet the requirements of a specific description will be placed according to their demonstrated ability at the discretion of the Department Manager.

4.0 REPORTS TO: Plant Manager/Assistant Plant Manager
6.0 POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Press Room Supervisor, reporting to the Plant Manager/Assistant Plant Manager, is responsible for directing the activities of the Press Room personnel, ensuring the productivity and quality of the stamping operations, and promoting a positive labor relations climate and maintaining a safe work environment.
7.0 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
7.1 Directs the Activities of the Press Room personnel, including manpower assignments, identifying overtime requirements and bringing them to the Plant Manager's/Assistant Plant Manager's attention, vacation scheduling, issuing disciplinary action if required, completing annual performance appraisal, and completing payroll status change request forms.
7.2 Working closely with the maintenance and die maintenance departments to minimize machine downtime by identifying root cause, insuring timelines of repair operation, coordinating necessary support departments, and following up on countermeasures to avoid future breakdowns. This function also includes timely completion of Die Damage/Miss-Hit Reports, timely submission of
Building/Equipment Damage Reports, daily submission of the Die Setup Scorecards, and daily submission of Quick Die Change Reports.
7.3 Promotes a positive labor relations climate in the Press Room.
7.4 Ensures Press Room productivity targets are achieved, including monitoring actual performance against target and initiates countermeasures to correct any negative variances. Inputs daily production counts and distributes reports to all required departments. This includes verification that all presses and dies are set to the correct specifications as defined on the Die Setup Sheets. Any deviation from the Die Setup Sheet must be reported.
7.5 Promotes continuous improvement activities.
7.6 Identifies training requirements for Press Room personnel and sets schedules and provides
resources to conduct training. Maintains skills tracking matrix for Press Room personnel.
7.7 Maintains a safe working environment, including completion of accident investigation reports,
utilization of personal protective equipment, and compliance with safety rules and procedures.
7.8 Insures all Press Room worksheets and SPC charts are up to date and are being followed and
utilized properly.
7.9 Reviews quality checks and provides interpretation to quality standards when required.
7.10 The employee understands that they are empowered to affect change in the company by making suggestions in writing or verbally to their supervisor (i.e., Bright Ideas, Safety Team, Departmental Meetings, and WERS).
7.11 Must be able to provide coverage for other shift supervisors as necessary.
7.12 Perform any tasks necessary to meet company goals and requirements.
8.0 QUALIFICATIONS:
8.1 High school diploma or equivalent.
8.2 2 to 3 year's previous supervisory experience.
8.3 Must be self-directed.
8.4 Must have decision-making capabilities.
8.5 Must have a flexible schedule and be able to provide off-shift coverage.
8.6 Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
