Responsibilities
• Construct and teach others on the generation of next-generation sequencing libraries• Perform and oversee immunoprecipitations• Analyze sequencing data and visualize data• Draft manuscripts and grants for submission• Conduct wet-lab experiments to confirm hypotheses• Conduct bioinformatic analysis of display libraries• Design, optimize, and automate phage display and antigen profiling immune experiments• Perform bioinformatic and phylogenetic analysis of Treponema pallidum genomes• Develop next-generation sequencing analysis pipelines• Supervise and analyze quantitative pathogen load determination
Requirements
• PhD in pathogen genomics, molecular biology, microbiology/virology/immunology, bioinformatics, or foreign equivalent• At least three years of combined experience in genomics and microbiology/virology/immunology• Prior first-author publications• Coding experience with R, python, and/or UNIX• Ability to program/code data visualization and figure generation• Previous experience with next-generation sequencing analysis and genomics• Strong written and communication skills• Ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot
