Job Summary
The selected fellow will contribute to a Wellcome Leap-funded project to develop quantitative ultrasound-based biomarkers of placental function and fetal wellbeing for the early prediction of stillbirth. The activities of the fellow include implementation and optimization of quantitative ultrasound algorithms in different ultrasound systems, optimization of quantitative ultrasound for in utero organ (placenta, fetal organs) characterization, data acquisition (tissue-mimicking phantoms, ex vivo tissue), development of advanced image processing and analysis algorithms (ultrasound image segmentation, multimodality image registration, pathology image segmentation and classification), and development and improvement of quantitative ultrasound algorithms. The fellow is expected to communicate his/her results through publications in scientific journals and presentations at professional meetings. Qualifications A PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering or a relevant field. Strong track record of publications. Experience in medical ultrasound imaging is preferred. Background in signal and image processing, machine learning, deep learning, and image reconstruction will be helpful. Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., MATLAB). Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Position Duration
