Job DescriptionPostdoctoral Associate positions are available at Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at the Virginia Tech Carilion campus located in Roanoke, VA. These roles will work in the Addiction Recovery Research Center (ARRC), directed by Dr. Warren K. Bickel. The successfully selected candidates will work primarily on NIH-funded projects that are examining the theory of Reinforcer Pathology and Episodic Future Thinking as an intervention for substance use, including for tobacco, alcohol, and cocaine use disorders. Postdoctoral Associate responsibilities will also focus on the use of the Experimental Tobacco Marketplace to investigate choice behavior and policies among nicotine users from a behavioral economics framework. Moreover, ARRC has ongoing projects to examine decision-making in addiction recovery. The position is well suited for individuals interested in technology applications and behavioral economics in addiction and health behavior. Moreover, this position will be involved in developing pilot research programs in the areas of addiction, decision-making and other human interactions. The selected candidates will be expected to help develop these additional projects.Required Qualifications* PhD in psychology, neuroscience, or appropriate related discipline.
