As an Atlantic Shores Porter, you will work together with the Housekeeping team to make sure that our residents have an enjoyable dining experience. This is a great entry level job where you can grow and become a part of a team that feels like family.
Earn a competitive hourly rate between $16 and $19.20 based on years of experience.
Full-time, Monday – Friday, with rotating weekends. Flexible shifts available. This position performs general housekeeping in all common areas, including lobby, library, harbor lounge card room, restrooms, swimming pool and exercise rooms, compactor rooms, and the hallways and sidewalks outside of each entranceway. General housekeeping includes doors, windows, glass, light fixtures, hand railings, pictures, mirrors, brass and stainless steel.
Communicates and works as a team to maintain the cleanliness of resident areas while respecting community and personal property and space. Vacuums and sweeps floors, dusts furniture, walls, all woodwork, etc., in common areas. Extracts carpets and cleans carpet when necessary. Inspects building on daily rounds and reports unusual findings to supervisor. Completes work orders in a timely manner according to priority established by the Housekeeping Supervisor. Removes trash from buildings and sets up for compactor pick-up. Completes all set-ups for functions taking place each day (tables, chairs, podiums, etc.). Uses a high level of detail while cleaning and adheres to sanitation and safety procedures. Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous porter experience is preferred but not required.
Good communication skills. Ability to professionally interact with residents, coworkers, and housekeeping team members. Organization and time-management skills. Must have reliable transportation to work and be punctual. Positive attitude and teamwork.
