Responsibilities
• Plan and facilitate staff meetings and in-service trainings• Ensure quality performance of all aquatic safety assistants and lifeguards• Responsible for scheduling all pool staff• Assist aquatic director with scheduling and other duties• Evaluate and document aquatics staff performance• Conduct aquatics orientation for new employees• Responsible for daily pump room/pool chemical inspections• Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills• Implement and follow aquatics SOPs and safety plan• Conduct disciplinary actions for staff if necessary
Requirements
• 21 years of age and high school diploma or equivalent• 2 years' lifeguard experience and 1 year of supervisory/leadership opportunities• Current YMCA lifeguard and swim instructor certification• Must obtain YMCA Lifeguard instructor certification within 9 months• YMCA of the USA Lifeguard supervisor course• Certified Pool Operator certification preferred• Demonstrate qualities of a leader and ability to work with minimal supervision• Must be observant, safety conscious, and able to react quickly to emergencies
