Full job description Invest in Louisiana, formerly the Louisiana Budget Project, is a nonprofit research and advocacy organization that seeks to drive policy change that builds a more inclusive economy for all Louisianans. We work collaboratively with communities and partner organizations to inform policy debates across a wide range of areas – including state budget, revenue, social and economic issues – with an eye to reducing poverty and promoting racial equity and widespread economic prosperity that allows all citizens to reach their highest potential.
We seek a Fellow for a project focusing on implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) of 2022 in Louisiana. The ideal candidate will:
? Bring information and insights to key stakeholder groups that support equitable distribution of benefits from IRA climate programs;
? Establish relationships with key stakeholders in rural communities to build local support for a just, clean energy future;
? Influence state policy to improve the enabling environment for equitable IRA implementation;
? Improve the lives of Louisiana residents through accelerated deployment of clean energy and transition away from fossil fuels.
RESPONSIBILITIES: ? Develop relationships with individuals and groups advancing climate justice priorities in local communities across Louisiana, particularly rural communities.
? Conduct research and produce written materials on state-level actions needed to bring the benefits of IRA programs to rural communities in Louisiana, individually and in partnership with other research and advocacy organizations.
? Promote Invest's research and publications to key audiences and community partners, through targeted outreach, public presentations, and briefings.
? Represent Invest in Louisiana in climate justice coalitions across the state.
? Track legislative and administrative action at the state, local, and federal levels that would impact the distribution of the benefits of the IRA, particularly for under resourced rural communities, and make recommendations as to when it is appropriate for Invest to weigh in on policy proposals.
? Attend relevant meetings and conferences.

? Education/experience: Master's degree in a relevant field; or Bachelor's degree with at least two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
? Communications Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to community partners, the general public, legislators and/or legislative staff, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
? Analytical Skills: Ability to employ both quantitative and qualitative analysis to data interpretation, including a working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software. Ability to generate charts and graphs that are understandable, informative and interesting and to effectively support data analysis with qualitative research.
? Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This is a full-time position supported by a 3-year project grant offering $55,000 to $65,000 annually. Benefits include 100% company-paid health, dental and vision insurance for employees, a 403(b) retirement plan with company match, paid vacation and sick days, and paid family leave. This is a bargaining unit position in Invest in Louisiana's staff union, LBP United.
