POKER LEAD HIRING IMMEDIATELY Location: Running Aces Casino Hotel Racetrack - 15201 Running Aces Blvd, Columbus, MN 55025 Schedule: Full time, weekends and holidays. Job Summary Under the direct supervision of the Shift Manager, the Poker Lead assists in the implementation of all operations in the Poker Room while ensuring that Team Member performance, on a given shift, is in compliance with the company's policies and procedures, objectives, goals and gaming regulations. The Poker Lead supervises poker room personnel working in their respective areas, while preserving the integrity of the games.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities In the absence of the shift manager, assumes all responsibilities of the Poker Room. Ensures a maximum level of guest service and satisfaction is achieved and maintained throughout the Poker Room. Approves the opening and closing of games. Manages labor levels holding overtime and calling in additional help as needed, due to volume of business and guest needs. Promotes and administers multi-table tournaments and daily promotions. Maintains security of all areas; makes on-the-scene operating decisions as needed; resolves problems and situations as they arise in the room. Approves player complementariness according to the approved comp matrix. Ensures compliance with gaming regulations, the company's policies and procedures, gaming procedures and guest service standards; enforces adherence to all state regulations. Greets and welcomes guests to the Poker Room, establishing rapport with personalized service. Monitors any suspicious or unusual activities. Ensures all inventory supplies are maintained, and monitors the security of distributing cards, etc. in accordance with gaming regulations. Maintains the highest level of confidentiality. Must present a professional and well-groomed appearance. Maintains departmental records and logs and communicates effectively with counterpart to ensure consistency of the daily operation of the Poker Room on a shift to shift basis. Read and follows memos/directives to the letter asking for clarification if needed and ensuring that all staff read and follow memos and directives as written. Reports back to his/her Shift Manager anything that seems unusual and reports when a customer is dissatisfied with a decision and seeks guidance when needed. Supervises dealers, board persons, and all other card room personnel to ensure proper performance of duties. Assumes all responsibilities of poker room personnel, including, but not limited to, board, running chips and dealing games when necessary. Keeps all card room equipment, supplies and paperwork secure and helps keep inventory updated. Maintains visual presence on card room floor Ensures all gaming equipment is returned and secure; never leaving cash, chips, tournament chips, cards, etc unattended . Fills out appropriate, detailed incident reports when necessary. Remains impartial and does not personalize issues when a customer or employee doesn't handle themselves in the proper manner, but remains calm and makes every effort to find a reasonable solution to each situation. Continually observes games in progress to make sure that all dealers are following proper procedures and ensuring all players are correctly entered into Bravo. Maintain enough flyers for all current and upcoming promotions ensuring that they are visible and available to all players. Continually monitors the rotation board making sure that all procedures are followed when starting games or breaking games to ensure that all dealers are treated fairly at all times. Must understand the dealer's play list and EO (early outs) list and manage it in accordance to the needs of the room and the Shift Manager's directive. Ensures the Shift Manager is contacted to validate all Poker Jackpots. Meets attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies and procedures. Attends all required meetings and trainings. Must be able to perform other card room additional duties as assigned. Qualifications 2-3 years floor and/or dealing experience Dealing and training experience of all varieties of Stud, Hold'em, and Omaha games Must be able to work flexible shifts in crowded and noisy environments Physical, intellectual and environmental conditions while flooring or dealing Ability to handle stressful conditions with customers and employees Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor at all times Must be able to stand on feet for extended periods of time Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs Must have high patience level to be able to train individuals Must be able to handle difficult customers and employees Job Posted by ApplicantPro
