Plating Operator

Position Summary: Level One: Selected candidates for Plating Operator Level 1 (entry level) position will learn tasks that support the Plating department. A Level 1 Plating Operator will be expected to perform a variety of support functions which include but are not limited to racking, unracking, and cleaning of production aerospace parts. Candidates must be self-disciplined and self-motivated individuals with strong accountability (attention to details) skills. Candidates must have the ability and desire to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced production environment, be resourceful and innovative along with presenting a strong business ethic and compliance to leadership and company policies, and a good communicator with the ability to represent the company in a positive manner. Other responsibilities will include maintaining a clean and organized work area, as well as adherence to organization safety rules and regulations. Level 1 Plating Operators will also be performing verifications ensuring that all traces of organic soils, fingerprints, dirt and dust etc. are removed by using solvent cleaners.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
Verify parts to shop traveler for quantities and that prior operations have been completed before starting process.
If any discrepancies, return to prior department for corrections.
Read shop travelers or blueprints to determine specified requirements and instructions for plating parts.
Review specific instructions and operating procedures for the Plating process to make sure that specific requirements are met according to shop traveler instructions.
Follow standard operating procedures to check, test, login, logout, and plate good quality parts, coordinating with department's supervisor or lead during the process.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills: The ability to read and write English.
An introductory competence in shop math such as working with fractions and decimals.
A basic knowledge of inspection tools and their proper use.
A basic knowledge of machine tools.
The ability to interpret written instruction on shop travelers.
Capable of setting up and running parts as required.
