Responsibilities
• Determine donor eligibility to donate plasma• Manage donor adverse events• Review laboratory test results• Notify donors of unsuitable test results• Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees• Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation is required• Be a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized• Support investigations associated with pandemic threats
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent• Currently licensed or certified in the state of assignment• Current CPR and AED certification• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy• Complete FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist• Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting
