As the Plant Operations Engineer, you will lead engineering design of production, and operational improvements.  You'll spearhead projects, drive efficiency, and collaborate with key stakeholders. You will be utilizing elements of six sigma, Lean, Kaizen principles, Gemba walks, root cause, and fishbone techniques to improve operational efficiencies.
RESPONSIBILITIES   Use improvement initiatives and Kaizen principles: Drive projects aimed at enhancing manufacturing efficiency and throughput. Design new production lines, layouts, machinery, processes and capabilities.  Enhance manufacturing processes and ensure smooth production: Review existing lines, machinery, processes, benchmark industry practices, and develop plans for implementing changes to improve operational effectiveness. Analyze data to improve efficiency and equipment reliability: Collect and analyze data across manufacturing departments to achieve overall efficiencies, improve equipment reliability, and meet quality targets. Drive metrics and ROI through improvement programs: Collaborate with teams to measure conditions, evaluate process performance, and address issues to achieve planned metrics. Train and educate teams on process improvement methodologies: Develop and maintain training materials, conduct workshops, and provide instruction and coaching to plant personnel to foster cultural change and drive continuous improvement. Reduce operational costs and standardize processes: Identify opportunities to reduce costs, coordinate with various departments to implement changes, and ensure manufacturing processes are standardized, documented, and compliant. Coordinate with various departments to improve operations: Interface with engineering, maintenance, R&D, purchasing, and front-line teams to improve processes, facilitate technical discussions, and ensure a positive and safe work environment. Qualifications & Requirements:
BS in Mechanical Engineering Five years of experience in CI/engineering with a focus on Kaizen Kaizen Leadership Certification preferred; Lean Six Sigma Black Belt a plus Data-driven with strong analytical and problem-solving skills Experience in high speed packaging CPG environment - beverage, pharma, consumer goods preferred Proficient in data collection and analysis Loves to lead, communicate and take ownership as a leader and expert.  Familiarity with ERP applications and automation controls and statistical software Previous experience in continuous improvement-focused environment
