Emerge is currently seeking candidates for a direct hire Plant Manager job north of Muskegon, MI for our client, a manufacturer of highly technical engineered casting products for the aerospace industry. The Plant Manager will lead the overall operations of the manufacturing center, which operates 24/7 and lead a team of professionals. Responsibilities for the plant manager include maintaining a culture of excellence in the production facility, achieving budgeted financial objectives and client requirements. You will have oversight of the entire plant, including planning and performance in Sales, HR, Purchasing, Finance, Production, EH&S, Engineering, and Quality. We seek candidates with strong leadership skills who can maintain and improve a strong teamwork-based environment and drive manufacturing excellence in support of short-term and long-range business objectives and strategies. We are seeking candidates with experience in a foundry/casting environment, with Lean/Continuous Improvement experience. Responsibilities for the Plant Manager job north of Muskegon, MI include:
Leads plant teams and departments in meeting goals and KPIs in a continuous improvement manner. Directs and guides the tactical activities of the business unit including, but not limited to, marketing, engineering, manufacturing, financial, human resources, and operational aspects with the objective of maximizing growth and profitability for the plant Directs and guides the tactical activities of the business unit including, but not limited to, marketing, engineering, manufacturing, financial, human resources, and operational aspects with the objective of maximizing growth and profitability for the plant location. Develops strategic manufacturing direction and planning for planning horizon utilizing lean manufacturing techniques, automation, and Kaizen disciplines. Ensures that effective business unit systems, procedures, and financial controls are established and maintained for the business unit's operations. Reviews and directs the development of new market opportunities and requirements for existing products and new products. Develops an awareness for the customer's product and service needs and maintains or enhances customer relations. Addresses performance issues and directs necessary actions to accomplish forecasted objectives. Provides mentorship and leadership for all departments, including Operations, Engineering, Finance, EH&S, HR, Sales, and Planning). QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in an Engineering, Manufacturing, or Business discipline from an accredited institution. Ten (10) or more years of manufacturing experience; at least 7 years within a leadership capacity. Experience in casting or foundry environment. Experience managing a financial P&L, leading manufacturing excellence, customer management, and driving improvements through the implementation of lean manufacturing principles. Experience driving improvement through the implementation of the lean manufacturing principles, total quality practices, six sigma. Strong leadership skills that create an engaged employee and customer management environment. Ability to drive improvement through the implementation of the lean manufacturing principles, six sigma. Strong technical understanding of manufacturing processes. This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.
