THIS IS FOR A FUTURE OPENING Plant Manager JOB SUMMARY: The primary purpose of this position is to plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of the maintenance department in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations and as directed by the Administrator to assure that the facility is maintained in a safe and comfortable manner. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: + Assist in the development of a facility-based and community-based hazards vulnerability assessment as part of emergency preparedness planning. + Investigate accidents or injuries and prepare reports of findings; review findings with the Administrator and the Risk Manager. + Participate in the annual facility assessment to ensure the available resources meet the needs of the resident population. + Ensure the safe and proper functioning of the environment and equipment that are necessary to care for the resident population in the facility. + Evaluate and document facility maintenance and equipment needs . + Provide facility access to state/federal inspectors and contractors as directed. + Evaluate work areas, examine tools and equipment and provide safety training to team members to prevent, detect and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures and regulations. + Inspect, test and measure completed work to verify compliance with state/federal requirements and/or facility standards. + Provide daily supervision to the maintenance department; ensure the efficient and effective operational maintenance of the buildings and grounds through planning, scheduling and supervision of tasks. Required Skills REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: + Must have, as a minimum, three (3) year(s) experience in a supervisory capacity in a maintenance/plant related position. + Must be knowledgeable of boilers, compressors, generators, etc., as well as various mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. + Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints. + Must be knowledgeable in building codes and safety regulations. Required Experience REQUIRED EDUCATION: + Must have a minimum of a two year technical degre e WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: + Works in office areas as well as throughout the facility and its premises. + Is subject to frequent interruptions. + Is involved with residents, family members, personnel, and visitors under all conditions/circumstances. + Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary. On call 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.
