Plant Manager Location Nashville, TN (Belmont Hillsboro area) : This full-time position in Nashville TN is responsible for leading and working with the facilities maintenance staff and vendors to preserve and enhance the operating efficiency of the facilities' systems (mechanical, plumbing and electrical), along with the physical appearance of the church/school buildings and grounds. The facilities are located on seven acres and include 80,000 sq. ft. of conditioned space, with multiple activities occurring across the campus daily, seven days a week. We are looking for a proactive, persuasive, and team-oriented leader who is responsive and service oriented - a hands-on person that can assist with maintenance activities as well as supervise others in that work. A positive, supportive and friendly demeanor is required to interact with the church/school staff, students and vendors. The position requires approximately 50 hours per week and will involve occasional on-call weekend duties.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Supervise maintenance staff and participate in the hiring process for additional staff Maintain heaters, chillers, pumps, fan coil units, etc. Execute and continually assess a preventive maintenance schedule for all mechanical systems on campus to avoid unexpected failures Manage janitorial, landscaping and other specialty subcontractors Lead and manage contract/vendor bidding processes as required Coordinate and comply with safety and energy conservation audits Order and monitor supplies Occasional clean-up duties, painting, and assistance in lifting and moving furniture and equipment (up to and sometimes exceeding fifty pounds), flowers, candles and other items around the campus Direct and assist with daily routine maintenance events Qualifications High School Diploma or GED, technical certification preferred Five years' experience in building and grounds maintenance work, including supervision of employees An understanding of HVAC, electrical and building systems, with the knowledge to troubleshoot issues and prioritize jobs and projects Good communication skills to coordinate maintenance activities with church/school staff Attendance at weekly staff meetings Physical requirements include stooping, standing, and climbing.
