Job Description The Planning Designer 1 works with Planners throughout the work order process to provide quality maps, forms, and completed work order packages for clients. The Designer gathers preliminary documentation (structure information, inventory maps, circuit maps, look-ups, load data, etc.), utilizes AutoCAD & Automated Utility Design to prepare construction drawings per clients' standards, adds material information, completes various forms, calculates pricing, and organizes files for final packaging. A basic understanding of overhead & underground construction standards as well as reading and interpreting civil drawings, survey drawings, land descriptions, field notes, work order sketches and/or other mapping reference materials is beneficial. The Designer typically possesses a combination of 1-5 years of experience in administrative support and/or drafting experience using one or more versions of AutoCAD 2014 software or equivalent underground electrical systems. The position will have some supervision and guidance but will require a self-driven individual who can manage the workload independently after training.

Entry-level position (minimum of one year of professional administrative and/or drafting experience). Required Specifications High school diploma. Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check. Must have a valid driver's license with an insured vehicle. This is an in-office position for the first 90 days of employment and a flexible hybrid schedule thereafter.
