Job Summary Our client is seeking for an experienced and motivated individual for our Planner role based out of our northwest Houston, TX facility. This individual would be responsible for planning, scheduling, and releasing purchased parts & assemblies.
Job Description Maintain effective and proper relations with suppliers or their representatives Place orders and determine requirements from engineering and production schedules Monitor the movement of materials through the production cycle and maintain inventory at planned levels Expedite the filing of orders by supplies to meet production Administer basic procurement functions such as maintaining more than one source of supply, verifying that planned purchase orders link to demand, suggesting changes or adjustments in quantities to take advantage of price breaks and trends Release new requisitions as necessary for quotations and procurement to support required delivery of component parts or services Participate in initiatives that will reduce the length of the supply chain, improve fill rates, and optimize inventory Review and release work orders per the system demand, manage the system recommended messages, as well as maintain work order dates that adhere to the metrics for the organization Regularly update work order due dates based on fluctuations in in-house capacity and the delivery schedules from vendors Regularly update safety stock levels, order minimums and order multiples in the system Keep the Planning manager aware about changes in the delays at work centers/machines and/or routers that would affect the lead time of the part so that the system can be kept up to date Comply with all Client Company and HSE policies and procedures Perform other duties as assigned Skills Required 5+ years of supply chain management Proficient in MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word & MS Explorer Able to read/interpret Mechanical & Assembly Drawings, Material Specs Effectively Communicate with various levels of Management and Operations Attention to detail and accuracy are essential Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and departments Positive attitude, Decision making, interpersonal skills, conflict management, and coaching skills Manage Multimillion Dollar Backlog, Inventory & Open Purchase Orders Manager Supplier's Performance, Quality, and On-Time Delivery Plan and Maintain Delivery Schedules for Finished Goods Maintain Adequate Inventory Levels Strong Communication Skills Able to Adapt to Change / Problem Solver Dynamic & Productive Strong Work Ethic, Responsible & Dependable Great Organizational Skills Independent & Self Motivated TOP SKILLS REQUIRED
Must have previous experience working in a manufacturing environment If the candidate has a bachelor's degree, they must have a minimum of 5 years of planning experience If the candidate does not have a bachelor's degree, they must have a minimum of 8 years of planning experience Previous oracle experience is highly preferred, not required. All candidates must have 3 or more years of working with an ERP system in their previous roles such as sap Must have an intermediate level of Microsoft Excel with the ability to perform Vlookups and pivot tables Must be able to read and understand manufacturing drawings/schematics Must be comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment Must be able to multi-task and troubleshoot any issues that may arise Have the experience and ability to expedite the process Must have stable work tenure in previous roles
Education/Training/Certifications Bachelor's Degree Additional Requirements Ability to pass a drug screen & background check Working Hours: F lexible on start time as long as it is no later than 8:30 am; typical work schedule is 40 hours per week. No remote or hybrid schedule available. Pay Rate/Salary $75,000 - $85,000 annually.
