Job Description: Apply and adapt medical principles, methods, and techniques to deliver comprehensive geriatric primary care and post-acute care services. Diagnose and treat a broad range of conditions and injuries, ensuring excellent patient care and enhancing service efficiency.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct patient history and physical exams autonomously, integrating data for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests based on individual patient needs. Prescribe and manage pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments. Collaborate with, educate, and supervise Advance Practice Providers in addressing acute and long-term medical needs. Maintain and efficiently review patient records, charts, and pertinent information. Educate patients and their families on medication and treatment plans. Utilize autonomy in medical decision-making, providing a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic services. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Expertise in geriatric primary care and senior living community healthcare practices. Familiarity with medical policies, regulations, and procedures. Competence in developing and maintaining quality assurance and control standards. Ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations. Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Education: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) Experience: Preferred experience in geriatrics, primary care, and post-acute care settings, including senior living, SNF, IPR, and LTACH. Passion for value-based care is highly desirable. Experience with EHR documentation is advantageous. Proficiency in documenting and billing across various healthcare settings, including hospitalist environments. A positive attitude, dedication to quality care, and a collaborative, team-oriented approach are essential. License/Certification: Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of North Carolina. Board Certified/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine. Current DPS and DEA certificates (or in progress).
