Responsibilities
• Performs venous, capillary, and line collections, and Point of Care (POC) testing• Instructs patients with collections of various specimen types• Follows processes and procedures according to protocol• Interacts with customers in a pleasant and efficient manner• Works in a fast-paced environment• Trains, educates, and mentors new and existing staff• Troubleshoots and resolves problems• Prioritizes work and makes good decisions• Maintains a professional image• Participates in special projects as assigned
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent required• Completion of a phlebotomy training program or 3 months of phlebotomy work experience required• 2 years in this role before eligible for transfer to other positions within Mayo Clinic• Submission of past 3 performance appraisals and updated resume for internal candidates• Early release approval required for certain internal candidates• Detailed equivalency High School evaluation required for foreign trained lab personnel
