Wr are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Philosophy Adjunct Instructor, with a starting date of May 13, 2024, to teach PHI 110, Medical Ethics.
As a part-time remote instructor, you will play a vital role in fostering an engaging and supportive learning environment for our students. Collaborating closely with students, fellow faculty, and staff, you will ensure that the educational needs of each learner are met while promoting growth and academic development.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive instruction in the area of philosophy, both in theory and practice.
Maintain and curate online classrooms, labs, and training materials to enhance the online learning experience.
Stay updated on developments in the field and contribute to program enhancements.
Engage students through various research-based strategies to create an interactive online classroom environment.
Deliver timely grading and constructive feedback to students.
Cultivate a sense of community within the online course environment.
Fulfill online instructor responsibilities, including reporting and grading, according to outlined deadlines.
Teach assigned course schedule with dedication and enthusiasm.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in the teaching discipline or a master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Philosophy.
Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with online Learning Management Systems (LMS), particularly Blackboard.
Familiarity with teaching online courses.
Experience working with diverse student populations.
Previous experience at the community college level.
