Compensation Type: Non-Exempt Employment Type: Temporary (Fixed Term) Grade: NE10 Position Summary The purpose of this position is to provide quality personal training to students, faculty, staff, members and the community searching for better health and fitness.Major Duties
Ability to give quality supervision and instruction to a diverse group of people. Administers and evaluates client health history questionnaires and physiological data to determine appropriate individual exercise/activity regimes; maintains the confidentiality of health information disclosed by clients. Plans and implements individualized exercise/activity programs and cross-training programs for clients. Independently demonstrates and instructs clients on proper technique in standard and specialized exercise areas. Sets up and monitors training equipment; ensures equipment is returned in serviceable condition. Tracks clients progress and maintains complete and accurate client files. Will track workouts with detailed record keeping and be the liaison between client and the Administrative Assistant concerning payments made and workout sessions available. Will be required to attend training meetings and workshops and perform assignments in relation to training. Other duties as assigned Knowledge Required by the Position
Strong interpersonal skills and organizational abilities. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing and be computer literate. Ability to work in a team environment and make contributions to the team. Ability to set up, calibrate, and maintain sophisticated exercise equipment. Knowledge and comprehension of all health & exercise equipment. Free weights, weight machines, cardio equipment, ETC. Ability to demonstrate exercises and routines to clients safely, modify techniques as needed, monitor and educate on exercises. Manage confidential information. Supervisory Controls
The supervisor assigns work in terms detailed and specific instructions covering all aspects of work. The supervisor spot-checks work while in progress and once completed for compliance with detailed and specific instruction as well as, procedures, and accuracy of the work.

The work is typically performed while intermittently sitting, standing, stooping, walking, bending or crouching. The employee frequently lifts light and heavy objects, uses tools or equipment that require a high degree of dexterity and must be able to distinguish between shades of color. The work is typically performed in an office. The employee is exposed to noise, machinery with moving parts, contagious or infectious diseases, or irritating chemicals. None.Minimum Qualifications
Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent. Must be certified as a personal trainer. ACSM, NSCA, ACE, AFAA certifications preferred. All other certifications will be evaluated on an individual basis. CPR certified; or able to become CPR certified within 30 days of employment.
