We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Permit Technician to join our team of professionals. This position offers great opportunity for dynamic, motivated self-starters to work on a variety of work assignments. You'll be a member of our highly respected team of professionals with a full complement of resources to support you and exciting projects to keep you challenged.


JOB REQUIREMENTS: Interfacing with all customers to service their building department related needs. Issuing and/or tracking permits through the permitting process, beginning with application acceptance, plan review, inspections and permit closure. Establishing and maintaining systems to ensure that all files, letters, reference manuals, field inspection reports, permit files, blueprints, drawings, and other data or material is maintained in an organized fashion. Performs administrative work in the application of various land development sections of the City's code. Assists in reviewing small building permits for adherence to land development regulations. Provides information to the general public regarding zoning codes, use, and site-specific information relating to parcels of land and provides to general public in written and/or oral form. Prepare requests for zoning verification letters. Reviews compliance with all applicable laws, codes and regulations and the City's Land Development Code. Provides assistance to the general public in interpreting planning procedures for compliance with City codes, regulations and ordinances. Working with plans examiners and inspectors throughout the company to develop and ensure consistent processes. SKILLS: Possess the ability to positively interact with the other staff members, the general public, contractors, governmental entities, and other clientele. Good time management, organization, telephone, attention to detail, and people skills. Must be able to perform multi-task operations with frequent interruptions. Perform a variety of duties requiring use of independent judgment and technical knowledge. Excellent Microsoft Office Skills and permitting software experience are a must. CERTIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE: 2+ years of customer service and/or administrative experience required Experience in permitting preferred Knowledge of the basic principles and concepts of urban planning, building, or zoning regulations is a plus Familiarity with Pennsylvania local government is a plus ICC Permit Technician and other certifications are a bonus Salary Range: Competitive Salary and 401K
