The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP), functioning under medical direction, prescription, clinical pathway and/or protocol is responsible for establishing and achieving therapeutic goals, in the care of patients with cardiopulmonary, neurological or other organ system dysfunctions. This is accomplished through participation in formulating a patient care plan, through the appropriate collection of data, performing a clinical assessment, diagnostic measurements and/or tests, applying therapeutic interventions, and making recommendations to other health team members.
Location: Bayview Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD is now hiring Respiratory Therapist in the Pediatric Respiratory Department. Schedule:
7:00 AM-7:00 PM 13 Week Contract Responsible for the administration of all respiratory care modalities, that include the following:
- Invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation
- Inhaled medication administration
- Administration of medical gases
- Humidity therapy
- Airway management
- Bronchial hygiene/airway clearance
- Chest tube management (NICU Only)
- Blood gas management
- Intra-hospital transport Responsible for rendering comprehensive assessments to patients with cardiopulmonary compromise including clinical pathways and interpreting patient data to make evidence-based recommendations for continued care. Responsible for clinical patient electronic health record management including clinical documentation, billing, and hand-off. Minimum of Associates degree required Maryland Respiratory License required BLS CPR required Registered Respiratory Therapist (R.R.T.) required Recent children's hospital experience is required.
