Unit Details : The Hospitalist 4 Unit is a 31-bed acute and intermediate care unit that treats a variety of medical and surgical patients and has a strong focus on infectious disease (ID) patients. This highly trained interdisciplinary team includes ID physician specialists, and many of the patients have complications from COVID-19. A unique patient type they care for includes those receiving Radioiodine I-131 treatment, a form of radiation therapy that can be used to treat thyroid conditions. UAB Hospital Medicine, or Hospitalist, was the first hospital medicine program in the state of Alabama and one of the first in the Southeast. To assume responsibility for certain technical aspects of patient care as directed by the RN/LPN for the hospital. To obtain and record vitals, weight, inputs and outputs. To successfully complete an in-house PCT training program. To demonstrate an awareness of patient and personal safety. Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required. Certified with Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) within thirty (30) days of date of employment required.
