We are currently partnering with a client from the transportation sector and are seeking a dynamic Payroll Specialist to join their team. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing multiple payrolls weekly, ensuring accurate and timely payments for all hourly and salaried employees. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a solid understanding of payroll systems and tax regulations.
Core Duties: Gather and organize payroll data from various locations.
Configure and maintain employee records in the Workday software accurately.
Manage and configure tax setups within payroll software; respond to inquiries from tax jurisdictions.
Verify the accuracy of Company Driver pay and address discrepancies.
Generate and review reports to identify potential payroll errors.
Conduct audits of benefit deductions using Workday.
Address and resolve all payroll-related inquiries, escalating issues when necessary.
Prepare and analyze comprehensive weekly reports on payroll processes.
Generate financial and other reports as requested.
Maintain the financial security of payroll operations by adhering to internal accounting controls.
Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned.
What we're looking for: Associate or bachelor's degree.
Workday experience is a must
Minimum of 3 years experience processing payroll for several hundred employees.
Experience in the trucking or transportation industry preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
Solid verbal and written communication skills.
High attention to detail and thoroughness in task completion.
