The University of Illinois Chicago, OVCAS Business Services is seeking to fill a Payroll Specialist I position. Responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll for Facilities Management and other units in the OVCAS. Assist in batching, punching, and scanning of daily, weekly, and bi-weekly timecards as assigned in a timely and accurate manner. Work with other staff to determine need for payroll adjustments, complete said adjustments, and monitor their application. Comply with all Human Resources and University Payroll System policies and procedures. Prepare basic payroll and expense reports as well as other duties as assigned.
Duties & Responsibilities Process the payroll for approximately 1,100 employees through batching, punching, and scanning of daily, weekly, and bi-weekly timecards. Prepare basic payroll and expense reports as needed Work with other staff to determine need for payroll adjustments, complete saic adjustments, and monitor their application Other duties as assigned Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Any one or any combination totaling one (1) year (12 months) from the categories below: College coursework in accounting, business administration, finance, economics, or a closely related field as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent: 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months) Associate's Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months) Bachelor's Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months) Work experience performing basic payroll duties.
