Payroll and Accounting Clerk Location Albuquerque, NM (Uptown area) : Payroll and Accounting Clerk Purpose This position is responsible for performing all tasks relating to payroll processing and accounts payable such as reviewing and processing employees' timesheets and payroll data, calculating wages, distributing Form W2s, entering all payables, processing weekly vendor payments, and contacting clients regarding overdue accounts. This position is also responsible for supporting other accounting tasks.
This position is full-time.
This position reports to the Accounting Manager.

Responsibilities · Maintain all payroll data and operations according to company policies and procedures.
· Review and process all timekeeping information for all employees.
· Calculate pay according to hours worked, incorporating leave and overtime.
· Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and answer any employee payroll queries.
· Prepare and submit reports with payroll information to Manager or HR Director.
· Act as responsible person for all payroll or report-preparing needs with payroll system (ADP).
· Issue W-2 Forms to employees.
· Handle accounts payable invoices and data entry, as well as expense reports.
· Assemble and review invoices to be completed for payment.
· Obtain proper information and/or data regarding invoice payments.
· Clarify invoice items, prices or approvals.
· Maintain copies of vouchers, invoices or correspondence necessary for files.
· Ensure imaging of invoice supporting documents is timely and accurately performed.
· Prepare 1099 Forms.
· Prepare and send out reminder statements and past due statements on client accounts.
· Contacting clients regarding overdue accounts.
· Utilize computerized accounting, billing, and payables software programs.
· Assist Accounting with billing and collections as needed.
· Operate office equipment, including computer, scanner, copiers, electronic typewriter and 10-key calculator.
· Maintains personal contact with attorneys and staff.
· Organizes and maintains financial records.
· Act as backup for Accounts Receivable.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications · High school diploma or equivalent, required.
· Must have at least 3 years of related experience, particularly in Payroll and/or Accounting Processes.
· Working knowledge of ADP.
· Computer knowledge and good typing skills, required.
· Basic math knowledge, required.
· Bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferred.
· Must have good organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
· Must have the ability to get along with co-workers.
· Must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with time constraints and interruptions.
· Must maintain employee and client confidentiality.
· Must have the ability to use initiative and good judgement in working independently as well as in a team.
· Must be able to perform all duties with minimal supervision.
