Details of the offer

A services organization in New Jersey is looking for assistance within their payroll department. The Payroll Administrator processes and prepares weekly payroll and assists the Payroll Supervisor as needed.

Roles and Responsibilities (essential duties and functions):
Processes payroll records for all new and terminated employees, including W-4 information
Export and Import daily payroll hours from Infield and post to View Point
Enters, reviews and checks daily time card entry. Reviews any discrepancies with plant personnel or supervisors
Makes any required changes to employee information such as change of address, withholding, deductions and/or direct deposit
Work with Atlanta Payroll Dept. to Process and Prepares payroll checks for distribution
Assists required Union rate and benefits changes
Prepare Garnishment check requests and send the payments to the authorities
Prepare monthly union benefits reports and send benefits payments to the appropriate union
Track union vacation usage and prepare unused vacation payout requests as per contract
Maintains Kronos timekeeping system to ensure accuracy
Maintain Infield user access setup
Assists with preparation for all audits including SOX, DOL, and Union
Prepares weekly reports for division President and other departments
Answer payroll inquiries from employees and solve problems
Maintain Confidentiality
Maintains professional demeanor in dealing with critical/confidential information; restricts discussion/knowledge of activity to a "need to know" basis
Regular and timely attendance is required
Additional duties as assigned or required
Marginal Duties and Functions
Perform other related duties and special assignments as directed
Assists yearly salary changes & Bonus payments
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education/Experience:
Required:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED) with 5+ years payroll experience
2+ years of multi- state payroll processing or business environment experience a plus
Basic knowledge of payroll principles, payroll taxes, and wage attachments
Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the preferred knowledge, skills and abilities
Preferred:
Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration preferred
5+ years payroll work experience in a corporate setting
Strong Microsoft Office skills including Intermediate/ Advanced Excel is preferred
Work Requirements:
Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and general public at all times
Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook
Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required
Must be willing to work nights and weekends when required
Knowledge/Skill Requirements:
Ability to work independently
Ensure payroll procedures are clearly maintained and documented
Ability to work cooperatively with other departments and employees
Ability to deal effectively with questions or problems, seeking assistance when needed
Ability to manage personal and sensitive information with a high level of discretion and confidentiality
Must be able to work under time constraints and ensure deadlines are met
