General Information: Job title: Patient Service Aide
Location: Fair View Nursing & Rehabilitation Center
Schedule: Part-time 2, 37 hours per pay period; approximately four, 6:00am - 1:30pm shifts and one, PM shift, 1:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Weekend rotation: every other weekend
Holiday rotation: rotating holidays
Position Summary: Under the direct supervision of the RN, assist the residents in non-nursing assistant functions in the nursing home.
Position Responsibilities: Report changes in resident condition to nursing supervisor. Perform duties, such as making beds, passing water, passing & picking up meal trays, emptying dirty laundry, garbage bins, passing incont. prod, unpack & stack incont. prod, stocking nutrition center, etc. Assist residents with completion of menus for their meals. Transport residents to locations inside the nursing home, such as to physicians' offices. Assist activities to get residents ready for outings. Utilizes resources and materials in an efficient and safe manner. Adheres to infection control policies and procedures as well as storage procedures to maintain a safe environment. Provides for comfort needs of the residents. Answers resident call lights and assists with the requests within the scope of a Patient Service Aide. Position Requirements: Required Skills: Excellent customer service skills. Self-directing. Able to work with little direct supervision. Empathy for the needs of residents. Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate through spoken and written English. Treats residents and others with courtesy and respect, presenting a positive public image. Works well as a team member. Ensures confidentiality and security of residents' medical information.
