Overview Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Patient & Family Education and Resources Manager assumes primary responsibility and oversight for patient and family education (PFE) across the CHLA enterprise, including supervision of the PFE team and operational leadership of PFE programming. Engages in strategic planning and establishes programs that facilitate CHLA's organizational health literacy journey. Partners with Office of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion, Office of Transformation, Information Services, and other enterprise entities to advance organizational health literacy and ensure patient/family access to information. Works closely with PCS Education & Research teams to provide initial and ongoing education about health literacy and PFE to clinical team members. Utilizes outcomes data to drive quality improvement efforts in accordance with regulatory and accreditation requirements. Fosters a team approach to shared responsibilities, while functioning independently as needed in all aspects of the work area. Empowers other work area staff to achieve the goals and objectives of the work area.
Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: 3-5 years of experience in pediatrics preferred. Expert knowledge in patient and family education and organizational health literacy. Ability to lead others. Good organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully, both verbally and in writing. Previous supervisory and fiscal management experience preferred.
Education/Licensure/Certification: Master's degree and CPR required. California RN licensure,Doctoral degree and National Certification preferred.

Pay Scale Information
USD $116, 688.00 - USD $201, 406.00

Final determination of a successful candidate's starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
