Responsibilities
• Create and schedule appointments within the electronic medical record• Gather patient-specific demographic and provider information• Advise patients on co-payments, referral authorizations, and pre-service deposits• Collect Guarantor and insurance details for patient eligibility assessment• Interact with patients, customers, referring physicians, Mayo providers, allied health staff, and family members• Navigate multiple systems simultaneously• Manage telephone calls, online requests, and fax requests• Ensure accuracy and thoroughness in all patient-related activities• Be available or talking with patients and healthcare professionals 80% of the day• Handle cross-coverage and travel when required
Requirements
• High school diploma/GED and minimum two years' customer service experience• Experience in a multitasking environment• Strong verbal/written communication skills• Troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities• Attention to detail and follow-through• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment• Basic understanding of insurance terminology• Strong keyboarding and computer skills
