The Role at a Glance: We seek a biblically qualified pastor to lead and shepherd our ministries to children, families, first-time visitors, and those pursuing church membership & integration into the body life at Kindred. Inaddition, we are looking for someone self-motivated, a people person, and an equipper of others to help grow and shape these ministries.
Why This Role is Important to Kindred Community Church?: At Kindred, we value Children and Families at our church, the family is one of God's divinely designed institutions, and we desire to be faithful in coming alongside parents in the ministry God has given them to train up their children in the fear and admonition of the Lord (Eph 6:4). God drawn to Kindred, hundreds of children (birth through 6th grade) to care for and we desire to do this with excellence and in a way that is glorifying to the Lord (Isa 43:7).
We also value the First-Time visitors (individuals & families) that God brings to our church on a weekly basis. It is our desire to be we want to help them connect to the life of our church through Church Membership so that they can experience the various "One-Anotherings," in order to be built up in the image of Christ. Each year God gives our church more than one hundred new members and we want to shepherd them well!
In Your Role… You Will: Oversee and lead the Children's Ministry (Foundations), a Disability Ministry (Indispensable) of the church. Provide leadership and support to our Children's Ministry Director and Disabilities Ministry Director. Oversee Children's Ministry teachers, curriculum, and events. Provide care and discipleship for the parents of the church in both formal and informal settings. Discipleship-Counseling for the parents and children Provide Parenting Seminars addressing relevant issues from a biblical perspective Provide leadership and points of connection for the church's young married couples as they begin their families. Provide social events for young married to connect. Offer Young Married Seminars to address applicable challenges and support for young marrieds. Oversee and coordinate premarital counseling at Kindred. Work with the leadership of our Sunday Connect Ministries to continue to make Kindred engaging to the first-time visitors and newbies to Kindred. Oversee and shepherd the Kindred community church membership process, including teaching the membership class. Serve as a pastor and elder of the church, carrying out general shepherding duties as a part of the pastoral staff. Who You Will Report To: Executive Pastor – Pastor Jason Erselius has been a part of Kindred Community Church for nine years and has been in pastoral ministry for 21 years. He is passionate about the leaders and members of Kindred Community Church, each finding their best place of ministry so that they can maximize the gifts that God has given each of them. He has the role, under Pastor Philip De Courcy, to oversee, lead, resource, and shepherd the staff of the church. The attitude of team player who desires to work as a part of a dynamic and gifted pastoral staff. In 2003, Kindred Community Church was planted as an Expository Preaching church and has grown to be one of the largest reformed expository preaching and teaching churches in Orange County with over 1500 weekly worshipers. Through the generous support of the body of Christ, Kindred's Global Mission is involved in 25+ countries around the world partnering with likeminded missionaries and local churches. Kindreds 1,500+ members participate in 1 of 42 and growing Life Groups offered providing biblical community, fellowship, teaching, and discipleship. The Biblical Counseling ministry at Kindred is certified through the Association of Christian Biblical Counselors and offers biblical help and hope through individual and family counseling. Kindred also offers advance Bible teaching through its Core Ministry and Core Ministry Training, challenging its members and attenders to grow deeper in their faith. The Music Ministry at KCC not only provides passionate and Christ-glorifying weekly worship, in addition to special music and worship events throughout the year. Kindred provides comprehensive and robust Children and Students Ministries which draws many to the Kindred family. Through both its Men's and Women's Ministries, Kindred is intentional in equipping and encouraging every man and woman to become the follower of Christ that Scripture calls them to be.
