Job Title: Parts Buyer
Location: Central and Eastern North Carolina
Compensation: The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on experience.
Job Summary: The Parts Buyer provides direct support to Customer Service, Inside Sales, and Service Technicians as directed by the Supply Chain Manager. They procure goods and services at the best value for all stakeholders, expedite orders as necessary, and identify actual and potential delivery issues to take proactive steps to inform and correct. The Parts Buyer also maintains superior customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with all stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Procure goods and services at the best value for all stakeholders.
Receive material requirements and process orders for field technicians, inside sales.
Cross-train for all duties in procurement and serve as backup for all roles within the procurement team.
Expedite orders as necessary. Identify actual and potential delivery issues and take proactive steps to inform and correct.
Process orders, stock transfers, set up parts and prepare ad-hoc reports in IFS.
Maintain superior customer satisfaction by promptly investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with all stakeholders.
Prepare system-generated reports and monthly metrics.
Track shipments and monitor incoming inventory for prompt arrival.
Build and develop relationships with key suppliers and customers.
Support the inside and outside sales team.
Assist with the development and implementation of purchasing instructions, policies, and procedures, including training.
Gather PM parts data, add to IFS, and generate and distribute quarterly forecast reports to parts stores.
Discuss defective or unacceptable new goods or services with vendors and others to determine the cause of the problem and take corrective and preventative action.
Provide Asset Tiger software and barcoding system support tech set up, training, refrigerant transfers.
Complete special assignments.
Be a knowledge expert of the Trane Order Entry system.
Be flexible to work overtime/weekends, as required.


Qualifications:
Five years of procurement experience, knowledge of procurement and logistics, and three years of project management experience.
Bachelor's degree preferred (business preferred).
Proficiency in Microsoft office programs including Excel (including building metric reporting and pivot tables), Word, PowerPoint, general familiarity with computer systems, and the ability to learn software applications as required.
Valid Driver's License.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with customers, employees, and company executives. Strong presentation and communication skills for training.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Strong analytical, financial, and negotiation skills.
Must be able to talk and hear. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to pass drug screening and prove US employment eligibility.
Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. and perform occasional sitting, climbing, stooping, crouching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and reaching; frequent standing, balancing, and gripping; and constant walking.


Work Environment: This position works in a typical office environment with occasional visits to job sites, which include outdoor work and work in mechanical/equipment rooms. During job site visits, the associate is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.


Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm with occasional overtime and weekend work as required.
